I gave my great-aunt who was 89 at the time a roll of postage stamps and she loved them!

My grandpa became really hard to shop for, he had everything he wanted. So I went to all of the places he frequented, the car wash, the bookstore, the restaurant on the corner, etc. and bought gift certificates. He loved it! He kept them in the car and had them at hand wherever he went. My dad spent a little more and hired a car and driver to take him to his club meetings every week for 6 months.

Make them something you made with your own hands, a quickbread, cookies, something that would be good to eat.
That is what I give anyone elderly they love the homemade gifts of food. The alternative is a can of the hard candies put a bow on it and give them hugs that is the best gift of all.

How about getting some old pictures together and a small photo album and make them a scrapbook . They will love it and it's something from your heart !
