southern states. that drawl I cannot get at all. I know they are speaking English, but my brain just can't wrap itself around that accent.

Upper Maine. They almost have a language of their own. They don't say r's where they should be and they put them where they shouldn't be and they say up town if they want to go down town and things like that.
