Join your local senior citizen center. They have lots of activities you and your hubby may enjoy. Cards, Bingo, dancing, just to name a few. They also go on day trips to visit interesting places, shopping, etc. MANY things to choose from and you will be surprised how fast you will make friends there. You can also volunteer there too if you like. Breakfast and lunch are served at many for little or no cost. Things you and hubby can do together or seperate. (You can dance while he shoots pool with the guys, etc.) And don't worry about being shy. People will come and introduce themselves to you. Just got to take the initiative and join. You'll be glad you did.

Friends Over 60

I have not reached that age, but I'm not that far too
. I had never had any male friends, and I've been married for 32 years now, but bored of that. I decided on that almost 2 years ago.
I could make some good friends, thanks to the Internet
. I play LITERATI regularly. There I could meet fantastic friends. By the way I'm from Argentina. I was in your country (England) some days ago.I found English people and men nice.
You can try my method.
Maybe It'll work.

Well I don't know about coffee, and the cinema lady, but if you still have a little fire in your boiler, you should not have any problem. I am a 57 year old male, and I would not bother with you if all you had to offer was coffee, and going to the movies. At our age dear, women are not worth the trouble unless there is some romance, or somthing to warm the heart or to raise the blood pressure. Now if you want a little "pazze" in your relationship, the sky is the limit. There are younger men out there who would love for you to share your experiences with them and help them be better men and better lovers. So, the choice is yours dear, but count me out for coffee, and pictures Ok. Love ya G

I would think the best places to find friends are at work. How about at a local religious institution? Or if you have free time, you could volunteer at a local hospital where you will meet others with free time (lots of retirees). Plus, you will be providing a social service as well. And most hospitals give you a free lunch!

I am much younger than 60, but I see a lot of social groups at the church I attend with members who are well over 60. They have a lot of functions, i.e. dinners, movie night, card playing night, etc. I am sure there are different avenues that church, but this is just one place I have personally observed, and they all seem to have a great time (I love to hear my older Aunt ~ who is 85 ~ talk about the fun they have).

Most people in America make convenient friends through work or church. Quite honestly, I am a married 30 year old and have the same problem. I'm glad you're still trying, I've basically given up. At least we have our spouses.

you could join an over 60's luncheon club or do a part time course at college which mostly more mature people do. You could probably find leaflets and adverts at your local library or you could volunteer to work in a charity shop or get a part time job in a supermarket.

She then came back on the show and slagged them off on air! I'm not helping really am i??? lol

p.s. Try and healthy life class at your local leisure centre, most places do them, then you can keep fit at the same time
