Chian is huge so it depends on where you are going. Here are some quick highlights though, pardon any messed up spelling:
Changchung: Jilin University-They have an AMAZING language program and I'm sure if you called them they would be happy to give you a couple quick lessons as well as employ a translator should you need one
Bejing: You can take a taxi (pretty cheap) to the great wall, it's quite a trip several hours if I remember correctly, but its worth it. Be warrend, the great wall is a VERY PHYSICALL place, it's not like in the photos where you see people taking a casaul stroll on top of a wall. The short section is about 6 miles long and has man hills, twists and turns
Xian: Teracotta Warriors are pretty cool, I recomend going early as it can get pretty crowded.
Shanghi-The Pearl Tower and the Aquarium are two worth while investments, although they are a little pricey

The $2 water taxi trip is relaxing even regardless of the indisputable fact that it drops you off in Ping Tom Park that's next to a yuppie condoville and a 4 block walk from Chinatown. you additionally can tension and park in a closeby lot or take the CTA crimson line. till you intend your visit with a community occasion or parade the main relaxing element would be watching the firetrucks go away the hearth station. this would be a Chicago community with ethinic eating places, shops, dollar shops, alongside with scientific, criminal, and political workplaces, and so forth...even a Walgreen's.

Go visit an "underground" house church, but before you do, let the authorities know where they are meeting. Then sit back and watch the fun as the Chineese officials arrest and persecute the Christians.
What? that doesn't sound like fun? Imagine what it is like to live in that repressive, intollerant society. Do yourself a favor, stay out of that hiddeous place.
