Okay, my 2002 GMC Envoy with 119,000 miles vibrates when I have the gear in drive and am stepping on the brakes. It does not do this when I am applying the brakes and the gear is in reverse, and it doesn't vibrate in park. Any idea?

Your engine motor mounts are probably shot.

Don't know whether you have the I6 or the V8, but it is not an uncommon problem to have.

Give the dealership and a reputable mechanic a call and get an estimate for replacement.

You might even try to find out if there has been a recall. GM had some seriously bad luck with motor mounts in 2002 and 2003 model vehicles.

Lexusry is right, I've seen a few of them with your problem and everyone has been the passanger side engine mount.

It sounds like the rubber bushing on either the upper or lower (or both) motor mounts is worn out.
