I did that too, I was late in my second trimester when they started becoming really strange, sometimes super scary dreams. Mine didn't even have anything to do with the baby either, mostly they were about me or my son (he was 3) getting hurt or killed. My husband thought it might be because I was feeling vulnerable...who knows. Just chalk it up to there being a million things running through that pregnant mind :)

You know that's funny, i'm 24 weeks and i too have had some crazy dreams. Recently my son started sleeping in his own bedroom and i'm a little paranoid something could happen to him since i can't see him from my bed anymore so i have really weird sometimes scary dreams. I think it's the hormones plus i've been a little stressed so that could be why your having lots of dreams too. But hey at least when getting some sleep right!

Yes.
Shortly before i get pregnant i have alot of baby dreams then when i get pregnant up to about the 10th week, i have gender dreams.
With my first two they right on the mark but with this one, the dreams stopped at 8 weeks, with no tell tale sign of the gender....i'm now 15 weeks.
But it is very normal to have alot of dreams.
I would have dreams of labor and delivery - now that was freaky lol.
I don't know why we have have a lot of dreams and sometimes they can be very detailed and graphic too but i don't know why.
Congratulations.

hormones and excitment about the new baby. Go get a book called " what to expect when you are expecting" by Heidi Murkoff. It's the pregnancy bible and will help with all these questions. I refer to it almost daily right now and I am due Feb 2, 2007. Your question as well as many others that you would not expect is in there. It's excellent in describing all of these little things that worry moms and help distinguish when something is "normal" or not.
Good Luck

Hormones..... I'm now 30 weeks pregnant with my 2nd daughter, I wish I had dreams. I have been having nightmares, I keep waking up thinking there are people in my house. It takes me ages to get to sleep in the first place. Hormones have a lot to answer for.
Good luck xx

I have no clue why it happens, but i know i have very vivid dreams during pregnancy, and sometimes awful nightmares that seem so real.
It's got something to do with all the hormonal changes and how emotional we are now and just everything going on inside the body, just not sure exactly what causes it.

It is funny because I though that is was only me. I am 15 weeks and have some strange dreams. I guess it is normal due to hormones or something like that.

all the hormones from pregnancy make you have all kinds of crazy symptoms, and it's very common for your dreams to be affected by it. i had wild nightmares through both of my pregnancies, you are not alone. your body is going through a lot of changes, and your dreams are a way for your mind to process all the changes you are going through, as well as your feelings about what's to come. best of luck to you!
