I am trying to start a club at my school (university) to promote the culture, interests, fashion, music, etc. of the goth/punk/emo subcultures. They certainly exist on campus but are very scattered. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to find and recruit members? What type of social events should such a club hold? What types of things would be interesting to these subcultures?
Input is greatly appreciated... I will gladly give 10 points to someone for good suggestions.

I was involved with starting up a club last year at my university, so I know how hard it can be. You first have to figure out what the basis of the club is, what the unifying theme will be. In short, you need a name that will draw together the kind of people you want in the club. Then you have to figure out if there are enough people in your college that will want to join. Only about 10% of people want to join a club, so if you've only got a couple of dozen people who might fit the bill, it would be best to forget about it. The best way to get people interested and involved is to hold a party or movie night on campus, and advertise in the halls, classrooms, e-mail, and with other clubs. You probably won't get any funding from the school for at least a year, so be creative in how you fund it (don't make people pay dues, whatever you do). As for the specific club, music seems to be the defining tread in all of them, so you might want to throw a CD listening party, watch Sid & Nancy, or go to a concert together.

You should look into courses that goth/emo/punks are into such as art, literature or music. Make flyers and post them near these courses and see what happens.
I think a masquerade ball during Halloween would be a cool event for such an interstitial group of people.

i'm emo, and that i have a lot of goth, punk rock, and different emo acquaintances.. we get alongside basically fantastic.. we actual all met at a save.. so do not say that all emo's and goths, punks... hate eachother, reason I have preppy acquaintances... and jew.. and basically becuase we are emo does not recommend all of us decrease themselves... i do yet I have personal and kin topics....

get a few goths,punks,and emos together and get them to help spread the idea of a punk,goth and emo club. then use the support from that to start the club:) hope i helped

Buy 10 gallons of flat black paint. Throw away your books. Offer free tattoos and nose rings. Paint your hair florescent. Turn the music up to deafening. Pass out chains to everyone.
