I had pnumonia and was diagnosed with having copd in september , my last period was in august , can anyone tell me why ??By the way I am 48

Almost certainly the menopause.

But if you are sexually active it's worth doing a pregnancy test. I know a lady who had twins when she was 49! And that was in the days before IVF.

there are lots of reasons to go with out your period. only one of which is pregnancy. however. you can go long periods of time without a cycle if you are under a lot of stress...you are overweight..underweight or if you have a compromised immune system. you should consult your doctor as to why you might be missing yours for so long. considering your age though, you may be starting menopause. in that case it is normal for irregular menstrual cycles.

menopause? Pregnancy? Both could be possible at your age. Maybe you should go to your doctor and have some tests if you're worried.

Change in diet (dieting etc)
Stress!
Menopause
