They don't have to say the pledge of allegiance, it's your choice whether you want to or not. Some schools have even dropped the "one nation under god" line. Out of courtesy though, it's a good thing to stand up with the rest of the class while they are saying the pledge. No we don't sing the national anthem.

What are some traditions the schools in the UK have?

An American school will ever never force a child to pledge to the flag. Some schools have even abolished this practice.

When I was in elementary school, we said the Pledge of Allegiance every morning, but we did not sing. If you are a citizen of any particular country, I think you should swear allegiance to it.

Flags and songs are not important. Citizenship should not be granted to anyone who fails a spelling test in their native tongue.

most "schools" in the US no longer do that... they prefer to bow to the ememies who have "immigrated"...read that infiltrated... and the "schools" do not want to offend the enemies of freedom.... from what I hear of the UK you have already lost the immigration/infiltration war... so sorry old chap... you are welcome to come here while what freedom we have still exists....
