I washed my goose down blanket, and it's not a BAD smell, but it's not pleasant, it kind of smells like dust.

it shouldn't...re wash and re dry it much longer than when just the outside cover is dry....use tennis balls in dryer to help fluff up

I wash my blanket in the washing machine and then I always air dry it. I have never had a scent to it other then the laundry detergent.

Your best bet will be to take it to the dry cleaners-- they're the professionals and will handle your comforter with care and hopefully get that smell out!

Down comforters are expensive, so it's always best to let the pros take care of your nicest things.

When the down blanket was made, they may not have used sanitized down feathers.
