I finished an Associates degree in 2005 and my enlistment in the military doesn't expire until 2009. I just wanted to know if the amount of time I've been out of school will make it difficult when I apply to a University to finish my Bachelor's degree. I'll be applying to a University of California campus (probably UC Davis).

It won't matter in terms of getting admitted, but it may matter in terms of what courses you'll take. I'm thinking of mathematics as an example; if you took College Algebra in JC and expect to take Calculus at the university, I'd want to test you to be sure you remember all that algebra before I let you in Calc because without it you'd almost certainly fail. Not good for anybody.

No, I don't think it will make any difference. They will look at your grades and what you have been doing since you finished at the junior college.

I doubt it. The only thing is that the grad requirements may change in the meantime, but not enough that is should worry you.

Thank you for your service to our country and good luck!

If you have an Associates, your credits will be counted toward your degree. No worries. God bless!
