On my wedding day, I was told "Don't worry about something getting messed up; something will, big or small, so just keep going."

I followed it and was SO glad I did! I was walking up the stairs in the sanctuary during the ceremony, stepped on the front of my dress, and nearly fell! I just blew it off and kept going.

Best advice ever!

The best advice I ever got was actually more like a motto but it's always stuck with me. Someone once told me that "The only people that can offend you are those that are better then you"

Basically saying don't let stupid people get to you which helps when dealing with some of the 'tards in the world :)

I started college when I was 28. I knew it would take me a long time (10 years) to finish going part time at night and I was discouraged thinking about being 38 when I graduated. The advice I got: How old will you be in ten years if you DON'T go to college?
So, yes, I finished (at 38). I even went on to get my Master's, and guess what--they did not put my age on either diploma!!!

there are two actually, you can attract more flies with honey than vinegar (be nice to everyone) and don't s.h.i.t where you eat (office romances don't work) i always adhere to both and they've held me in good stead.
