I want to decorate for Christmas with some fresh pine needles (I live in SE Texas, so I just walk out in the yard and pick them myself), but I don't know how long they'll last! Also, if you have any ideas as to what I can do with them, let me know! Thanks! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

pine needles off the branch will last a few days before they start to dry. Keep them in a bowl like popouri. You can also make candles and put them in the wax. For longer lasting decorations cut the bough or branch and keep it wet with floral stem waterers (They look like test tubes with rubber caps) or floral oasis in a bowl (Looks like a block of green foam) Stick the branches in it on both sides of the bowl and decorate the middle with bows or other decorations.

They'll dry out, but they are "evergreen". Make candle wreaths or rings? Drape over mantels, doors, windows? Measure a length of cord to fit, then tie on small pine branches. Make as full as you want, then add a string of lights, or ribbon, etc...It will last as long as the holidays.
