all the charts and things i have seen say he should weigh about 11 oz, so the doc just confused me.

the doc said he is in the normal range, just the lower end. he's in the 26% range. the doc said not to worry unless he's under 10%

It could be a number of things.IUGRor maybe the baby is not getting enough oxygen. When is your next apt because this is very serious.I really don't want to tell you the negative things that can happen but get back to the doctor asap. They told me the same thing and a month later it was too late.I wish you the best of luck and if you have any more questions email me at bunky11212718@yahoo.com

I had my level 2 ultrasound when I was 19 weeks and 5 days. My little boy was weighing abotu 11 ounces as well, and the docs said he is just fine! Genetics play a part in how big of a baby you will have. 11 oz. is in the normal range for 20 weeks!
As long as your fundal hieght (to the top of your uterus from your pubic bone) is measuring right, then dont worry. Babies go through growth spurts in the womb just like outside hte womb...so your baby might not have hit his major growth spurt yet, or haev just started it, or whatever.
I am now 31 weeks pregnant, and everythign si still going good...and I had the same size little boy as you do right now.
Good luck and congrats!!!

I suppose every doctor has their own way of doing things. However, my oldest daughter is expecting our first grandchild April 26. She had her ultrasound at 19 weeks and her baby also weighed 11 ounces. It doesn't sound like there is anything to be too worried about. If the doctor wants to do another ultrasound, that doesn't hurt you or the baby and it may just be your doctor's way of double checking to be sure everything is fine and your son is growing normally. If you trust your doctor, then follow his instructions. If his advice doesn't sound right to you or you are uncomfortable with it, then have a second opinion. To me it sounds like your doctor is just being cautious, though.

I think it's just your doctor's view on what a baby should be. Because 11 oz is fine for 20 weeks.
But if you must help growth a little, eat some fatening foods, but not too much....and a lot of water. Just eat more small frequent meals and make them healthy, then have some sort of snack that's not so healthy, ice cream, shake, cookies, etc (just not a whole lot of junk)

At 20 weeks 3days I had a level two u/s and was told that my baby boy was 11oz also, they said it was fine, it was on the smaller side, but still fine. I've only gained 3 lbs in 21 weeks, so go figure. But I was premi and my SO was a twin and is not that large himself. So I wouldnt worry. That baby will get to growing and then you'll be mad when you have to pop out a 9 lbs baby

The doctors kept changing my due date when my mom was pregnant. She just carried small babies. I was 5lbs 13oz, and healthy, my brother was 6lbs 8oz.
Don't get too worried. The next Ultrasound should let them know that he is developing normally, just small.
After doing some quick searches 11oz is fine for 20 weeks.

sounds like he just doesn't want you to do anything to make the situation worse, like exercising or not eating enough.
just relax and enjoy your pregnancy and eat up and grow that boy!!
take care.
