(By power, I mean electricity, heat, etc.) We finally got our power back here in Seattle, Washington after about 5 days of no heat or electricity. Man, that was hard!

Yay! I grew up in Seattle! Anyway...the longest I've gone without power was about two weeks in 2004 after the hurricanes here in Florida. I know how hard it is in both cold and hot weather, glad to hear it! :)

Three days in the winter. No electricity, therefore no furnace and no heat. Phone died after 8 hours. You could see your breath in the house the whole time. Snow drifts were too deep to go anywhere in the car.

Made hot coffee and soup in the fondue pot.

We now have a gas fireflace that doesn't need electricity

I live in the Caribbean and sometimes we get hurricanes. In 2004 Hurricane Ivan passed over Jamaica and I was without power for approximately 8 days.

In Toronto, Ontario, we had a blackout for 2 days in August 2003. It was really bad, gas prices skyrocketed the day after when the power came back. It was like a dollar per litre and the lines were INSANE! Me and hubby waited in line for nearly 2.5 hours!!!!

7 days in 2004 during a hurricane. The bad thing about it was I lived in an apartment and none of us had lights, but the people who lived in houses across the street did.
