Proactive works for faces, so why not the back? Try that or some other similar face acne treatment with salycilic acid in it. The best bet would be go to a dermatologist and get a prescription for medication to clear it up. He or she might even find the cause of it and prevent it from happening again.

Bonzoyl Peroxide. It's the basic ingredient in Proactive. You need to get it in prescription form because the over the counter stuff is usually too weak. But you can try that first just to make sure. Maybe it would work for you. If not, go to a dermatologist to get a prescription.. You can get a wash or a topical cream.

if its only on your back, it could be caused by the clothes you are wearing. Sometimes if you wear too tight of tshirts or clothing that doesnt "breath" your back can break out from that. Use an over the counter acne wash, and a toner/astringent.. wear cotton tee's, or loose fitting tops so it can air out. If you have longer hair, try to keep it off your back.. the oils from your hair can cause back acne as well

I used to have the same problem. To help clear it up I switched detergents and shower soaps. Using detergents/soaps with dyes and perfumes can trigger allergic reactions, even acne. (Plus, I got a "back facial" at a salon/spa in my area.)

Use a charcoal based wash that you can find at www.origins.com. It's made specifically for back acne. Just keep washing with that and it will take it away quick.

You can use the same products and scrubs for facial acne. It can be hard to scrub your back, but you can purchase one of those loofa sponges on a stick, and it works well for reaching.
Good luck with curing your backne.

it can be caused by long hair or shampoo. Try an over the counter rememdy, like freederm or something, and if that doesnt work go to a dermatologist

hi! if my boyfriend had really bad acne on his back & face from playing sports. so pretty much just wash your back with a wash cloth & exfoliate it! that is true too that if you expose your back to the sun & fresh air it helps as well. good luck!

Exposing your back to fresh air (shirt off) and sunshine does clear up your skin; however, you best bet is to see a dermatologist and have the doctor prescribe what is the best treatment. (Besides good hygiene)!
