I'll start the list. A few years ago, during a dirty Santa game, I ended up with reusable, paper placemats that had a protective wax coating so you could just wipe them clean. The sad things is I saw them in a store last year & they cost $22!!!!

My Mom once gave me those big character slippers with the animal heads. I was living at home so it was hard not to use them. I have big feet and these just added to the size. I was pretty clumsy back then, too, and they didn't help.

One year for Christmas I got a gift from my uncle and aunt. It was an ugly green cardigan that was way too big for me. There were no tags on it and later I saw a piece of tape that said 25 cents! It had obviously been purchased at a garage sale!

The worst gift I ever got was from myself. For several years I got myself worked up waiting for an engagement ring. When I didn't get it - I was heartbroken.
I've let it ruin enough Christmas mornings.
I've decided, we love each other, and that should enough for me. Some have much less. I can be thankful and happy this year, no matter what.

A hand-nitted poncho from my grandma, let's just say that it's a good thing that it's the thought that counts because that thing was UGLY, I hung it up in my closet two years ago and it hasn't moved ever since.
