It depends on how long you were on the pill. Just a year or two yep you can get pregnant immediately. If you've been on the pill for 5 years or more it may take a year or so to get pregnant. If you're late, go ahead and take a test, I would recommend first response, because it is best at detecting the pregnancy hormone early on. God bless!

It is possible. Some times it takes a while after going off the pill to become pg. In my case it took 6 months before I became pregnant. For some women it takes longer, and for some it takes less time than that. It is also possible that you are just late with your cycle because your body needs to adjust to not being on the pill and needs to go back to its natural cycle. The best way to find out is to do a test. You can do a test as soon as the first day of your missed period. Good luck!

U can get pregnant right away but the chances of that happening arent that great test 2 or 3 weeks after your missed period ... because your period is 3days late might not mean anything .. your cycle will probably be out of whack for the first few months after stopping taking the pill good luck tho

My first child was successfully conceived on the first attempt after going off the pill for the first time in about 8 years. I tested positive on a home pregnancy test (can't recall the brand, but I've had good results with several brands over the years) the first day of my missed period. You can always re-test if necessary. Good luck!

Home Pregnancy Tests:
Advances in laboratory testing have now reached a stage where we have access to easy-to-use reliable pregnancy test kits over the counter
* In pregnancy, the growing tissues of the new conception (early foetus) secrete a special hormone into your body called ‘human Chorionic Gonadotrophin’ (hCG). This enters your blood as early as one week following fertilisation. This can be traced from your blood or urine by special tests. Home tests are done with urine.
* TDepending upon the type and sensitivity of the test used, pregnancy can be detected as early as a day or two from the missed period.
Tests currently available include: .
* In the first week (within 7 days of missed periods)
o Pregcolor card (used extensively in India)
o Velocit one step pregnancy test
Both these tests use the principle of 2 colored bands appearing if you are pregnant and only one band appearing if you are not
* Within 2 weeks of missed period:
o Pregcolour bottle
o Granindex slide test
These tests need a higher level of hCG before they become positive. Hence they become positive after five weeks from the last menstrual period.
Points to Note:
For best results, you must take care that
o Urine is collected in a clean, dry container.
o Early morning sample of urine is preferred.
o A fresh sample is preferable
It may happen that a test result comes negative although you may be, in reality pregnant. This is more likely if:
o Your cycles are irregular or are often delayed.
o The testing has been done very early in pregnancy. In such cases, if the test is repeated after one week, it may become positive.
It is always advisable to confirm the pregnancy diagnosis by a qualified medical practitioner as all tests have their limitations.

Yes you can, but it could be that your cycle is messed up right now also. I have 2 kids and we are trying to have another one right now. I have been off the pill for 3 months now. The first month I was late and thought I was pregnant but it was just because it took me 3 months to get my cycle staightned out. If you are not this month don't worry it will probably happen soon. Good luck with everything.

No! Usually it takes a year to get pregnant. But a year I would say to get your body back on track. Your period is off; and I can imagine how bad your cramping is. I was on the shot for a yr, it was the worst time in my life. I am glad you got off of birth control because it can cause cancer and other deadly diseases.
But you should go and get a blood test just to make sure! You should have unprotected sex! You can get hpv. Your just making yourself at risk for HIV/AIDS! Use a condom and maybe you wouldn't have to worry about these things. Your the one that is in control of your body. If he doesn't want to wear a condom, then don't have sex. Just because your on birth control, doesn't mean that you don't use condoms. Be more respectful of your health.
