Can I change the in-game glove to just a normal pointer? Are there any other tricks besides turning all the video settings down that could help my junk computer run it faster?

Pointer is not changeable. Some UI mods have attempted it, but it usually gets banned
I have a comp that had the bare minimum to run the game and I did lag as well. Of course, you gotta turn down the graphics and effects, ESPECIALLY the distance frame rates. Make things only populate within a short distance, that way less info is clogging your comp.
An EASY EASY fix i just did, was go to http://www.newegg.com and bought 2 512 RAM sticks for the comp. they were 45$ each, and they are the easiest thing to change. No software, just pull out and pop in. Doubled my computer speed and I dont lag whatsoever. Please 90$ is nothing compared to a happy gamer and computer

No idea for the pointer, but for speed, delete programs that arent needed off your harddrive, and do defrag and disk cleanup every once in a while

You can't change that. I have 512MB Ram and have lag real bad in SW. The game really needs 1GiG of RAM to run well. I usually shut down everything I don't need.

Nope, unfortunately. Turn off all special effects, shadows, water ripples, and move the slider to a lower quality.
Close all programs in the background (even autorun)
