Before he steps down as PM, Tony Blair has stated a desire to return Israel & Palestine to the Peace Agreement & continue to promote democracy in the Middle East.
Yesterday, he called Iran a destabilising force & urged countries to unite in “an alliance of moderation to take on Iran.”
Let’s assume that Britain is running so well and he’s got so much spare time, he can easily offer his incredible talents to other nations.
Shouldn’t the UK Police finish investigating Blair for undermining democracy by selling peerages and shouldn’t Blair stop ignoring the democratic majority views on Iraq before he helps spread democracy to others?
Do Brit’s feel they’re in an honest & open democracy?
Also, shouldn’t Blair look at his two previous peace projects in Afghanistan & Iraq to make sure they can’t get any worse, before taking on the simple task of Israel & Palestine?
Has Blair earned the right to call Iran a destabilising force? I heard a rumour that Iraq isn’t perfectly stable yet.

Allen L - Did you read the who question?
My point was about Tony Blair offering to manage other nations affairs, when Britain has issues.
He's not really democratic either and he's failed in spreading peace to Iraq & Afghanistan.
What do people feel???

Tony Blair is just desperately searching for a 'legacy' - choosing middle eastern politics, is, in my opinion, proof he's gone a bit soft in the head!
As for calling Iran a destabilising force, well, i don't recall Iran ever launching an aggressive occupation of a nation hundreds of miles away, yes, there have been some vicious spats with neighbours but nothing like the blood curdling debacle currently underway in Iraq.
Calling on moderate arab countries to unite in controlling Iran - that will never happen and if I know that I wonder why TB doesn't! Arab countries are made up of big fishes in small ponds and never trouble themselves with neighbouring countries (unless they are threatened)
Palestine and Israel? Perhaps move the Promised Land to ... Hawaii . . .?

As a brit I'd say we live in a more honest and open democracy than many who live in the land of the not so brave and free. Our media can pretty much get away with anything, this is something that not all countries can do.
Tony is just trying to do a Clinton but I don't see the middle east players doing a good friday agreement.

Tony Blair going around the middle-east is a waste of tax payers money. Saddam Hussein's Iraq was the counter balance to Iran in the middle, and thanks to Bush and Blair it was removed, and all with a pack of lies. I personally don't know how he has the audacity to pitch up there and start preaching. A less diplomatic person might just say "why don't you f off back to Britain you lying, interfering dumb a ss".

You discuss peace between "Israel and Palestine," an unfortunate choice of terms. The only place in the world called Palestine today is in Texas.
"The fact is that today's Palestinians are immigrants from the surrounding nations! I grew up well knowing the history and origins of today's Palestinians as being from Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Christians from Greece, Muslim Sherkas from Russia, Muslims from Bosnia, and the Jordanians next door. The civil and tribal wars between Yemenites (from Yemen) and Kessites (from Banu Kais of Saudi Arabia) ... are well known among Palestinians.
"My grandfather, who was a dignitary in Bethlehem, almost lost his life by Abdul Qader Al-Husseni (the leader of the Palestinian revolution) after being accused of selling land to Jews. He used to tell us that his village Beit Sahur (The Shepherds Fields) in Bethlehem County was empty before his father settled in the area with six other families. The town has now grown to 30,000 inhabitants."
- Walid, a Palestinian Arab defector, talking about the recent immigration of Arabs to Palestine. quoted from "Answering Islam"

UK may have its problems, as do all countries, but it can't be denied Iran is a destabilizing force.
Blair may not be Jesus Christ, but he seems to see the world picture better than average.
As a US citizen, I mildly take exception to Ahmadinejad's vow to take over the White House, which he prefers to call the Filthy House.

That is because he only cares about the International scene and how he is seen in it. He doesn't care about the issues that we have in Britain and why would he, it's not like him or his cronies are ever going to be a victims of crime, struggle to pay their council tax or have problems getting any NHS treatment!
He is only doing this because he is trying to get himself a cussy job at the UN.

True democracy is as real as the tooth fairy. We have no democracy and this **American Style** democracy can not be exported to other countries where it is obviously not going to work. And tony is a silly puppet!

Blair is only a messenger , he only repeated what Bush told him to say , Blair himself has no position on the Mid-east issue.

TB can't do f* all. He's going to be leaving office in what is effectively a matter of weeks. He's just blabbing, massaging his own ego, trying to feel important, and grabbing headlines.
