As long as you are going to use them all, and are going to return them all, then its fine. I checked many more out when I did research work in the past. But, if you aren't using them, or aren't returning them, then you are preventing others from using the materials without actually using them yourself, which isn't quite right.

I normally have 6-10 out at a time (about half are children's books for my son), and I am a voracious reader. What type of books are they? If they are new releases, you may want to limit yourself to one new release at a time, as well as some older books. Most libraries have shorter times on new releases. Do you bring your books back on time? If not, you may want to cut down on the number of books out at one time.
While it is admirable that you love reading, by having that many books out at one time (especially if you are late bringing them back) you are depriving others of the privilege of reading them, too.

Realistically, how many are you going to read in 3 weeks. Trust me, I see the appeal, but if you aren't going to read that many in the allotted time, leave them for others.

yes its too many but really who cares?!?! if your going to use them, go ahead and check them all out. It's better than them sitting on the shelf and rotting.

We usually have that many out at a time! But we rarely get them all back on time... ;-)
