What good universities you know?

The above list is good. The University of Texas (Austin) has a good astronomy program too. If you are not planning to major in astronomy and just want an introductory class or two, almost any community college will do.

If you want to be an astronomer, you'll need to go to grad school, probably for a Ph.D. That's if you want to teach or do research. As an undergrad, you'll want to major in physics with a double major or minor in math and astronomy (if offered - the physics is the most important part). Spend your summers doing research projects - look into Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) programs at different colleges and labs.

Good astronomy schools :
Berkeley
Harvard
UC Santa Cruz
UCLA
University of Arizona (Tucson)
UMass Amherst
CalTech
Columbia
Cornell
Princeton
University of Toronto
University of Chicago

up and coming schools:
University of Michigan
Ohio State University
Clemson University
University of Maryland
University of Colorado at Boulder (best for atmospheric sciences)

Good luck!
