I know what you mean, I have a Ram 1500 and the little bottle jack that comes with them are a pile of junk. I change my tires from the 225's to the 265's. and the bottle jack wont even reach the frame now. I just went to the auto parts store and bought me a bigger bottle jack. I think mine is rated 5 ton jack.

Do you mean jack, as in the jack hardware that is soposed to come with the truck for changing flats, etc. Or something like a floor jack for working under the truck? Whatever you do, make sure you remember to prop something behind the tires so the truck won't roll over on ya! :)

I use a small two ton floor jack you can buy at most auto stores or Wal-Mart. The little crank up bottle jack under the passenger seat has never been out.

You should have one under the hood. If not anything with a 2 ton capacity will do the job. Bumper jacks are easiest to deal with but smaller bottle (hydraulic) jacks store easier.
