I want to yell and scream at them, the idiots. This is two months ago I was approved a 3% raise and they owe me retro pay as well. They are firing people at every chance they get so I want to be diplomatic . . . but I also want my money.

The raise was supposed to implemented four paychecks ago with retro pay for the six months that I was waiting for my evaluation with all my training completed.

Assuming the you notified your boss of the problem and nothing has been done, contact payroll/HR to find out what the problem is.

When you find out - lost paperwork, lack of authorizing signature, still "in the works" - now you have facts not fiction, and you can re-visit your boss. Inform him/her of your frustration, and ask if s/he will do what is necessary to resolve the situation.

Don't threaten, but make him/her aware that there are "other steps that I could have taken, but since you've been good to me, I wanted to give you the opportunity to rectify the matter". (The "other steps" involve a complaint with the Wage and Hour Division of the Department of Labor.)

Check with your payroll dept. if you have one, or go to HR and just ask them 'if there's a reason your recent raise isn't reflected in your paycheck yet'. They'll either tell you the reason or they'll say they don't know anything about your raise. If they say they weren't informed, go back to your boss who approved the increase, tell him that you hadn't seen it reflected in your pay yet, so after going to payroll or HR, they told you that they weren't informed about your increase yet. Tell him you know that he's very busy, but if he doesn't mind, would he please stop by and let the appropriate people know about your raise. Thank him for his time and tell him that you'll keep your eyes open for the increase. If it still doesn't show up, remind him that he said that he'd take care of it the last time you two spoke. If it still doesn't appear, you can ask him if he really intended to give you the raise he agreed to. He'll either say 'yes' or that he changed his mind. You'll know what to do depending on the answer you get!

Having had the same experience, I found that my employer just had forgotten to tell the payroll department. After I reminded him, I got the increase and the all the back pay retroactively to the date the increase should have kicked in.

If there is a payroll department, talk to them first. If not, approach your boss and simply ask when the raise is going to show up. Its probally just a glitch in the paperwork somewhere.

try something along the lines of 'Hey *insert name here*, I was hoping to talk to you for a minute about something. Remember that 3% raise you approved me for back in october? Is there a certian time peroid that I need to wait until that goes through? It dosen't seem to have been applied yet"

If you have paperwork stating you got the raise, bring it along just in case your boss plays dumb about it.

permit it pass and pass paintings someplace the place you get fee. in case you're that good, this place isn't valuing you, and you're dropping the two you cash and a while with them. despite in the event that they agreed to grant you a develop, i does not opt to stay there. you're doing lots to convey money into the corporate, and you sound very to blame. in case you ought to beg for a develop, they truthfully do no longer deserve you. Take you skills and pass someplace which will the two take exhilaration in you and reward you on your super revenues potential!

Are you sure the raise wasn't supposed to kick in on January 1?

We have employee evaluations annually at which time we're advised of our raises but they don't go into effect until January.
