I live in a small city of Turkey. Its population is approximately 100.000. It is near sea and a green and nice city. But its citizens (including me) do not know how to produce its future by using social sciences. The only important thing is to earn money here. But this view will destroy my city in the near future. I hope there are somebodies here in yahoo answers , who help us to draw a route for a city's future scientifically.

In America, cities are usually built around family. Streets with shops, neighborhoods with houses and apartments, and parks where a common area is designed for recreation. We have zoning that determines what type of industry can be built near homes and neighborhoods. Make sure there is enough space for bicycles and walking safely. Keep your water supply clean and toxic free. Build more bike paths than streets and you will keep your air clean. Get to know your neighbors and help each other. Attend town meetings and encourage others to get involved in planning your community.

If you could create something that is clean and makes money from foreigners, such as a world class university and science business park.... learn from Cambridge.
