I was looking at some questions on this movie but no one ever answers this.

Why do people hate this movie?

I was watching it last night along with the rest in order to get the feel of the story again in hopes of seeing 6 today (sadely i wont get to yet).

I think it was a great story line.

so why do people put it down?

Rocky V came out in 1990 and I heard it was terrible. But I never saw it, so I don't know for sure.

I understand the new one called "Rocky Balboa" is fantastic. I read a review saying the story is very sentimental and there's a great relationship between Rocky and his son.

I haven't seen it yet, but with all the positive reviews, I'm thinking about seeing it - after we see We Are Marshall on Friday.

I don't hate Rocky V, but it just didn't have the same vibe as the previous Rocky movies. The previous movies left one with the good feeling of accomplishment. Rocky V seemed to be only about pay back. Yeah, I was glad when he beat the crap out of that ungrateful guy, but it didn't make me feel like cheering at the end of the movie.

because it was flashback after flashback.

there's only so many flashbacks the audience will take before they realize that the movie was just a warmed over rehash of the older rocky movies and was made soley for profit with very little creativity.

it was obvious that the directors wanted to recapture the success of the first rocky movie by sending him back to the old neighborhood and turning him back into the "wise guy" he was in the first one instead of the rich wealthy character they turned him into.

in my opinion, they should have made I and II and then called it quits. after those two, the rocky movies became repetitive and predictable.

There is no problem with the movie except that it is entirely unrealistic.Am i to believe that a 60 year old geriatric wannabe has-been boxer can win a match against someone at least 30 years younger than them. Its like King Kong vrs Tinkerbell i wonder who would win ?lol.I have not seen the movie myself but the concept is clear. The movie storyline is utter rubbish .

It was very good, it was just unlike all the other "Rocky" movies, which is why ROCKY purists hate it........... but in my opinion, I loved it.

Just got home from seeing "Rocky Balboa"... it was very good, just kind of sentimental and sad. It shows Rocky as more of a person instead of a fighting machine. The ending is not very good, imo. Still worth watching at least 3 more times, though :)

That's just the thing. It WAS good.

I don't know about eveyone else, but I hate it when they add a bad sequel to a good classic movie, like a million years after the first one came out. Leave a good thing along, don't add to it.

personally I liked it. But most fans didn't like seeing Rocky take a fall from graces. I think it brought his character into a more 'plausable' realm, and shows what happens to many boxers over the years.

Even Sly is bored with making it again.
He wants to retire the Movie all together and not make anymore.
