My friend-yes it really is my friend! Is on antibiotics, does the morning after pill still work if you are on antibiotics? I think that it wouldnt be as effective but im not sure!

It may be slightly less effective because it will be less well absorbed due to the change in intestinal bacterial flora. I think the morning after pill will be less changed by antibiotics than the daily *pill* since it is a very high dose. Anyway, it's worth a shot to prevent an unwanted pregnancy. Buy her Plan B & a pack of condoms so she's not in a fix again.

Antibiotics can affect the metabolisation of the hormones, so it may not be absorbed - it depends on the type of antibiotics though.
Definitely talk to the dispensing pharmacist or your doctor!

I think that's definitely a question that needs to be asked of the prescribing doctor or the dispensing pharmacist.

However, I would imagine that it would still be as effective in evacuating the uterus (since that's what it does ... it DOES NOT KILL the fetus - it only makes the uterus uninhabitable to a POTENTIALLY fertilized egg!!!)
