To answer your question, it should be viewed from a global perspective. I have had the good fortune of working in and visiting several different countries around Asia. During that time, I have worked with people of just about every imaginable race, creed, and religion. I must say that every culture has its sub-cultures of upper, middle, and lower class, fortunate and less fortunate, good and bad, honest and criminal, with each developing its own stereotypes of the other sub cultures.
That being established, there is no race or religion that has been scientifically proven to be better than another. While some people may be more intelligent than others or more talented in some areas than others, these traits are equally distributed among all cultures.
Given the equal distribution of positive and negative traits among races, anyone that would describe an entire race with a given set of negative traits would be a bigot, as bigotry is defined as a person who is utterly intolerant of any differing creed, belief, or opinion.
While it is may be appropriate to label some subcultures negatively, especially those that transcend race, such as gangs, our time would be more constructively spend pooling our efforts in determining ways to eliminate the problem as opposed to simply labeling them and pointing them out.

It seems that you might have made an observation which shed a bad light on minorites or some section of minorities and, as a result of that, you are being called a bigot.
If I truly understand and have interpreted your question, correctly, then I will have to say you should not be judged on that particular fact.
In truth, no one likes to hear bad about oneself, so there is the problem. You touched someone's 'nerve.' People get hot and bothered about things like that. Since I do not know what took place I cannot say too much, just - If you were being honest and sincere, and not trying to be downright nasty for the fun of it, don't worry.
Regardless of what you/we do in this life, there will be results and sometimes we don't like them. They did not take kindly to what you said and now, you don't feel you're being given a fair deal.
Merely an impasse!

Because often the question assumes that a mere stereotype is the truth when in fact it is only a stereotype meant to demean and disrespect the group as a whole.
If you have an authentic question about a group of people that does not seek to discredit the group on the basis of a stereotype, it shouldn't be offensive to anyone and should be recognized as a quest for more education and knowledge. However, all too often, the questions presuppose a fallacy or stereotype as being true in an effort to reinforce racist diatribes and encite people to anger.

I am but unfortunately all it takes is one bad apple to spoil the barrel. Bigotry is a sure sign of ignorance and lack of compassion for others that do not fit in their standards of what is right and normal. I find bigots come in all sizes, shapes and races. Abstinence is the best policy in dealing with them. They seek attention and when no one will listen they usually go away to hide under the rock in which they came from. ((( Weekend huggs back)))

Truly good and loving people would be more concerned with their own issues and perfecting themselves to be a positive example to help guide the less fortunate. If you are looking at others problems then you aren't busy striving for your own perfection.
Let others deal with their own sins the way every single person has to do. I think that you'll find controlling your own negative personality traits may take up all your time.

What kind of minorities? You sound like a bigot. What do you know for sure about every single person in a minority group?

One "negative truth" does not usually apply to an entire group of people. They are most likely shocked that you are lumping them in with those that they are ashamed of. For example, I'd be pissed if you learned a "negative truth" by observing Paris Hilton and then tried to apply it to me simply because I am a blond girl.

Because you are making generalizations based on race. I doubt you would appreciate someone making the same characterizations about your ethinicity ... and believe me theirs are every bit as accurate (or not) as yours. Generalizations are just a way to make you feel superior, which obviously you are not. Grow up and learn to be a little more tollerant.

You are a bigot, if you refer to anyone as a minority.
Each person has a name and a unique personality.
