Ok so I have the sims 2 installed in my computer and it works fine. I recently got a laptop and I have been trying to transfer the program folder "The Sims 2" so I can play the game. However this does not work. I lost the CD so I cant install it on my laptop. So the question is: What files do I need to transfer so that I can play the game on my laptop ? Im using a cd-patch so the cd is not a problem but im sure there is a registry entry or something that is keeping me from playing the game on my laptop. Your help is apreciated !

yea im sure its the registry files and probably even the files in system 32

Of course it doesn't work. That's why we 'install' programs. There are more files within the registery and windows. What files remains a mystery.
You people really have to start taking care of your stuff. You're at least the 20th person to have 'lost' the cd.
I guess you 'lost' the case as well so you'll need a cd key for the case and game you 'lost'.

There are many files that are required to be in the right place that arnt in the sims folders. I dont know exactly which ones. Youre just going to have to reinstall it.
Oh and youre not fooling anyone. Go buy the game for reals if you want to play without issue, Pirate.
