My friend dyed his hair dark blue in my bathroom while I was away in Montana and made a huge mess. I have blue hair dye all over the white walls.... I tried scrubbing it out but I thinks it's useless. Now I'm moving out and I really would like my deposit back. Is there a product that will help? Or is my only option to paint? Any suggestions much appreciated.

After slapping him silly, you're gonna have to paint. First apply Kilz and then your chosen paint color. Tell ol' Blu-hair, Smurfs are OUT!

Paint over it with a quality primer. I think Kilz has primer in a spay can. Allow to dry and then repaint. If you don't have the original color paint for the bathroom, check with your local recycling center. Sometimes you can donate usable paint there which means you can get a can of paint for free. If you are moving out, who cares what color it is.

You could try a strong bleach but I don't think that it will take it off. More bad news, paint alone wont cover it up. You are going to have to use KILZ it doesn't let color bleed through as bad. Being a bathroom it shouldn't take too much KILZ or paint redo the whole room. The kilz is oil based so be sure to have adequate ventilation.

Yes you probably have to because if you put a red over your hair right now it will come out purple - red and blue mixed together makes purple. I do not know what colour you used but it is possible to help strip colour. You could consider using equal parts of bleach, 10 vol peroxide and shampoo Leave it on for 10 min/watch the colour. and then apply the red colour after rincing the mixture very well ! Good Luck !!!

Paint costs way less than your deposit, even if you have to redo the entire room. Don't hold back, and make sure you get photos of everything before you move out in case your landlord disputes damages and fees.

The only real option you have is to HIM paint it. He did make the mess after all. Unfortunatly paint is pourous and has already absorbed the color, paint over

A gallon of paint will probably cost far less than the lost deposit

Paint it dark blue, and tell the landlord that is a popular color now for bathrooms.

You're prolly gonna have to repaint.
I dyed my hair black and I got it all on my walls and used nail polish remover and it helped a little but I still had to repaint.

You would have to have your friend come back before you move out and have him/her paint it back to white.
