Crocodiles DO have tear ducts! They possess lachrymal glands that secrete a proteinaceous fluid (tears), just like in humans. Of course, these are only visible when the croc is out of the water long enough to dry out.

They don't cry for remorse or sadness - merely to get debris out of their eyes.

The express "crocodile tears" which means false/insincere sadness, comes from the legend that crocodiles would attract prey by crying.

They arent "tears" but more of a secreation from the eyes. It is not similar to normal tears. It is to wash any junk out of their eyes.

They don't - they have no tear ducts. Hence the term "crocodile tears" when someone is being sarcastic or snitty. Example "The Jews shed crocodile tears when Hitler blew his head off."

They produce tears because they need to keep their eyes wet or they will dry out and fall out.(mook)
