Here's an idea. Create a new folder in your computer and title it 'Email addresses'. Then, go into your email address book and do the 'copy and paste' thing. If the 'copy and paste' doesn't work, the leave your email address book window open (minimize it by clicking on the 'minus' button at the top right corner of the window) and go into your newly-created folder 'Email Addresses'. then, type them in or use MS Word to create an address list document, then copy and paste that address document into your 'Email Addresses' folder. If you don't have MS Word, use Notepad that's installed with WinXP or whatever text program you have with your version of Windows. Once you have all your email addresses in your new folder, you can then save it to a floppy. Right click on your new folder, then move your mouse over the 'Send To' option. A drop-down menu will appear. Choose '3 1/2 floppy'. Make sure you insert your floppy first. Hope this helps.

This depends on what you are using for email.
If you are using Outlook Express - do a search on your hard drive for *.wab or *.pab files. Those are Windows Address Book or Personal Address Book.
If you are using Outlook search for *.pst - this will be your entire mailbox including Calendar, Address book and all emails in Outlook.
Not sure if they are going to fit on a floppy. you might want to invest in a thumb drive or a memory key where you can store much more than you can on a floppy. even if you can find a 32mb drive you will save yourself about 28 foppy disks worth of backing up.

Get a USB memory stick if you can...you can pick one up for very little these days and it will save you time and trouble with a floppy disk. As for your project are you just backing it up or are you intending to keep things on this seperate then your computer. If that is the case cut and paste the names of the addresses into a word document for referance....save that to the disk.

Are you talking about cleaning your disc or formating your disc?
If you are talking about formating save evrything on a flash drive or CD. As for your e-mail addresses, you need to open your e-mail, click on help and look for information on Exporting the address book.
Now, if you are talking about maintenance cleaning of your hard drive, follow the instructions below.
Note:
Before doing any of the maintenance steps outlined below make sure that your system is free from viruses and/or of any other undesirable Internet bugs, by running a thorough security scan of your machine. After you are through with it, go to Microsoft updates or Windows updates and download any and all available updates for both office and windows.
Now, you are ready for the following:
HOW TO DO A THOROUGH CLEAN UP (Windows XP)
While you are connected to the Internet do the following:
1. Click on tools ... Internet options. There you will see three buttons next to each other... “Delete Cookies” ... “Delete Files” and “Settings.” Also, below the settings button you will see another one “Clear history.”
2. Click on “settings” - go to “Edit” - Click on “select all” - Go to files, click delete and wait till all Internet trash files are gone.
3. Go back and click on “delete cookies” and wait till all cookies are gone
4. Go back and click on “Delete files,” put a check mark on the little white square shown on the small window that will open, click OK and wait for a little.
5. Go back and click on “Clear history”, click “yes” and you are done.
6. Now do a check disk and a defrag, then restart your computer and see if the problem is resolved. It is assumed that you know how to do that.
7. If the above steps don’t do the job, here is a little program that keeps your machine in shape and free from crashes:
Get on the web and go to http://www.tune-up.com/products/tuneup-utilities/site; download the free trial program, familiarize your self with it and use it to clean up your registry automatically along with a sort of other helpful and useful maintenance chores. It is an excellent little program and does wonders with PC maintenance tasks and I strongly recommend it! It works on the background on its own automatically.
Here is how to clean website addresses from you browser bar:
While you are connected to Internet, go to “Tools” … “Internet Options,” “Content” tab … “Auto Complete button” … click on “clear forms” and you are finished.
Hope this helps!

there are always more than one steps to working with computers and then there is the matter of not using the computer. keep a written log of your email addresses or get a memory stick which has a greater storage capacity than a floppy.
