As a stay at home mom to two girls and one big boy, who does a pretty good job of keeping a whole house clean and homeschooling, the secret is.....

Make up your bed as soon as you get out of it. You won't have a chance to dwell on the fact you don't want to do it.

Pick up as soon as it hits the floor. If you let the mess pile up then you'll feel too overwhelmed to even start after awhile.

When you pick things up, do it by twos. If you've got a dish in your room and some trash to throw away, then do them at the same time. Kill two birds with one stone.

Also, buy some cleaning products that smell great and that may help to motivate your cleaning.

This has worked well for me and my family of four.

Get rid of some stuff. Organize things and put them back after every use. Pick up clothes make bed. (Making the bed everyday makes the room neat even if you have some things laying out.) Good luck and happy holidays.!
