Usually when your parents say it it means if you don't do what they say you will get a spanking. But it can also mean if you don't listen as a child later in life you get beaten down by life. :)

A hard head refers to someone that is bad or does not listen to no one.Makes a soft a** means a tender butt.In other word if you are hard headed(bad) then you will get your a** beat and your a** is not as hard as your head so think wisely before you act out.

Can't say I've ever heard that one before, but I'd assume it means if you dont listen (hard head) your butt's gonna hurt!!!

hard head = stubborn
soft a** = one one who comes off as a sissy or just plain soft

I have always taken that to mean that people who are stubborn or don't listen to good advice will fall on their a** therefore, causing a lot of pain....
