I would hate to be born near Christmas. I am so thankful I'm a Gemini and miles away from the festive season, so everyone has enough cash in their wallets for decent pressies again!
You have my sympathy.

Mine is Dec 7...a couple weeks before Christmas...and my brother's is New Years Eve. Growing up, from like October on, if I saw anythign I wanted, I was always told "wait, you might get that for your birthday or Christmas". Then if I got $$ or a gift card for my b day I always had to wait, just in case I got whatever I was looking at for Christmas. Yeah, and then there were those cheapies who would combine the gifts, or just say, "I'm getting you somethign nice for Christmas"....while they woudl get the same thign for someone else who happened to have a summer b day...plus they got a birthday present 6 months later also!!! With my brother, well, mom and dad would do major shopping after Christmas, and he would get some of the coolest things cause they were all on holiday clearance...but eh also went through the same thing with combo gifts.

I think it did make me a better person in the long run and not as greedy...I learned to appreciate what I got and what I had...but as a kid it sucked!

Yes, mine is on the 28th so that meant all the unwanted Christmas presents got dropped off at my door! And try having a party when everyone else is not really available and besides have no money after Christmas anyway. One of my kids birthdays is on the 11th but he was a surprise and I didn't plan that!

My wife knows how you feel. Her birthday is the 10th of Dec. And she grew up getting stiffed by getting the combination presents, and in the time we have been together, I've never given her a combination Christmas present and birthday present. 1 because I know she'd be pissed. And 2 they are 2 seperate events.

So in a way I share your pain.

Happy birthday sweetie. My birthday is on the 9th Jan and everyone is skint then also! I either get something from the sales or I get "I'll get you something at the end of the month" but when the 'end of the month comes'...everyone has forgotten! And you cant really say "Oy where's my presents?" I don't forget everyone else's birthday, so yes I share your pain!!!

Yes it must be rubbish being born so close to Christmas as people will never remember it. My birthday is in July and most people are always away on holiday.
Many Happy Returns

My son's birthday is the 22nd. We were adament, when he was a kid to separate birthday and Christmas. When a relative did the combo gift in the beginning (one gift for both events) we put the word out if you can't afford both then at least send a separate card. Birthday cards and decorations were in a specific area. Birthday party decorations had nothing to do with Christmas. Years later he said he appreciated how we handled it.

Happy Birthday. Live long and prosper.

Spare a thought for my poor nephew, he was born on New Years day. He has the same thing with presents, but imagine trying to be excited about your birthday when everyone around you is severely hung over!!!

First of all, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
And yes, it does kinda suck having a birthday near Christmas because either people don't get you a birthday present because they got you a Christmas present, or they try to combine the two.
My brother's birthday is in December, and I always get him 2 different presents. :)
