Scrape out all the loose paint. No use treating stuff that is going in the garbage anyways. The next thing to do is look at the ventilation for the bathroom. YOU DONT HAVE ANY. THAT IS WHY YOU HAVE THE MOLD. Fix it. Get a window or a power vent installed(which means more wall damage first as you cut and frame and reboard. Don't even bother with paint on the wall for now.,..it is a waste of money. Kilz does not kill mold. It is a "STAIN STOPPER". so that the mold does not burn thru the new paint like indelible pencil.

While the common misnomer is bleach, this is incorrect. Bleach will not kill the mold. There is a moisture problem that must be corrected prior to the mold issue being corrected. Run the vent fan for a minimum of 20 min. after you shower or bath. If you do not have a vent, install one. This will alleviate the moisture. Use a mild detergent and water to clean up the mold. Rinse with clean water and dry adequately. Good luck.

First find the source of the mildew and get rid of it. It could be a leak behind the shower wall, or water build up under the flooring. replace these things or it will grow back!!! then bleach everything.

Bleach will make mildew go away...for a little while, but if you don't get rid of the source it will return.

Tilex. If you can't afford that mix bleach and water 50/50 and put in a spray bottle. Bleach is what kills the mildew.

There could be severl reasons for the mold and mildew. Try installing an exhaust fan. You might even try installing a heat light(lamp).

To prevent it, crack the window slightly before showering, even in winter to reduce the amount of steam and run the fan. To clean it, either comet with bleach or soft scrub with bleach. Use in a well ventilated area though...very toxic!

Bleach. And continue to air out the bathroom after bath or showers and wipe wet areas dry.
