yes, as mentioned, the siddhis. checkout sai baba. he appears to be a true siddha, based upon a lengthy history of "supernatural" accomplishments. and, for those sensitive to energies, one glance at a photo of him will convince you he's not even remotely an ordinary human: http://www.eaisai.com/baba/ for example. happy solstice, all ;-)

You're speaking of what are known as "siddhis." Just like comic books teach, great powers come with great responsibility. The twist is this, Reality is planned much more subtly and with much greater care than a comic book. Here, great responsibility comes first. If you were to receive some crazy ability without the ability to understand yourself and how to apply it, it would be useless to Life and the greater scheme of things.
Power is real...it is everywhere, and when you talk about recieving it you show a belief that you are cut off from it, which is untrue. Every moment that passes you have infinite potential to do who knows what. That's power. Using that power to the benefit of all will bring you satisfaction that walking through walls or turning into water to entertain yourself never will. Look within yourself if you want power...if you don't see anything, look deeper, and keep looking.

i actually heard of a very powerful superhero that was really well documented. his name is jesus christ... it's up to you to believe or not all the stuff people are saying about him
my opinion is that, just like religion, super heroes were invented by people fearing the unknown and wanting to feel protected by a superior force (hence the name)
it's a nice way to spend a few hours watching a movie or reading comics on super heroes... but that's all there should be to it

Aaron. You have been suitable to place up this question in mythology and folklore because of the fact thats precisely what superpowers are, mythology and folklore. There has in no way been a validated occasion of a human with paranormal or superhuman powers. in no way. stay definitely, its lots extra constructive right here.

I don't think it is like you are thinking. GOD does give us amazing powers from time to time....the greatest one I have ever heard of was when he gave us the ability to LOVE. Love has more power in it than anything you will ever posses!!!!!

People are capable of many more things then most people assume, limited only by biology, physics, lack of imagination and abundance of ignorance.

No, I doubt that they exsist. Maybe in your mind, but nowhere else, other than the pages of books.
