It depends how far you are in the semester. The further along you are in a class, the harder it is to pull up your grade.
Say you've gone through 20% of the possible points you can earn this semester. You'd only need to earn at least a little over 91% for the rest of the semester.
But say for example that you only have a final left and it's worth 20% of your grade. In that case it'd be impossible to get 90% overall unless it was possible to get extra credit and 110% on your final.
Just hope that your class hasn't gone through 2/3 of the possible points in the semester. It's impossible to bring up an 85 to a 90 past that point, even if you're perfect for the rest of the semester.
The best thing you can do is ask your teacher for help and direction directly. Since they're the ones who create and give out their tests, they can tell you directly what they expect you to know.
Also, sometimes teachers may bump up a "borderline" grade if a student has shown initiative to approach them because it gives them the impression that a student is hard-working and made a serious attempt to learn the material.

Get more correct answers. Haha....no seriously, it is a math problem. Suppose you have seven tests that average to 85 and you are going to have three more tests. Then you final average will be the points from your seven tests (7*85) and your points from the last three tests (say 3*A where A is the average of the last three tests) averaged over ten tests. So grade=(7*85+3*A)/10. If you want this to be >=90 percent, you set up the inequality (7*85+3*A)/10>=90. Then 595+3A>=900 so 3A>=305 and A>=101&2/3 uh oh....aint gonna happen :-(
IF that was your sitaution.......

There is no easy answer to this. Lg does have good advice though. It is not a bad idea to sit next to kids who do well in a class in which you may want or need extra help. Don't do it to cheat on tests and quizzes though. Do it to pick their brains for knowledge. You may be surprised to learn that most kids find it quite flattering to know that others think they might have the ability to teach others, and will be willing to share what they know with them. Also, there is the added benefit that they are in your same age group, so they can probably explain things more in a way that you can relate to, rather than on a more formal adult level. Additionally, you can form study groups with these kids, as well as lasting relationships. Consequently, it's also a great way to make friends and connections which may serve you well in the future.

first, remember that an average is just that - to get a 90, you have to get higher than a 90 to average in with your B. There are a couple of things you can do otherwise - ask the teacher for help, make flashcards for formulas, search for "math help" etc. on google for websites (many with tutorials), read the text (well, try!), and use your friends as resources - sometimes they'll get it when you don't and vice versa

Maths is always, always, always about practising. The more you get the methods drummed into your head, the better. Get your hands on as many practise questions as possible. I'm not sure what level you're at - if you did, I may be able to suggest some books.
Also - improve your mental arithmatic so that you can easily spot if an answer is reasonable, and that you haven't made a simple mistake.

You'll need to get some 95s soon. If not, ask for an extra credit project.

(80 one.3 + 70.5 + seventy 5.6) / 3 = seventy 5.8 ~~Your consumer-friendly grade is seventy 5.8 (80 one.3 + 70.5 + seventy 5.6 + x)/4 = 80 227.4 + x = 320 x = ninety two.6 (80 one.3 + 70.5 + seventy 5.6 + x)/4 = ninety 227.4 + x = 360 x = 132.6 ~~you will choose between ninety two.6 and 132.6 to convey it as much as a B consumer-friendly (finding on in case you elect a low or intense B).

in my class our semester test is 20% of the semester grade, therefore if you ace the semester test and do well on the 9wks test you could bring this up. It just depends on how your school does their grades.
