Does drinking a lot of alcohol lower your body temp. enough to keep sperm alive longer and keep your body from fighting them off better?

Just wondering... cousin said that was her only explaination cause she was drinking (with her husband) the first time she got pregnant and tried for the past 2 years to get pregnant again... her & hubby went out drinking again one night (not normal thing 4 them obviously)... & BOOM now she's preggo w/ twins

Um no, it can dehydrate you though, cause you to get your stomach pumped becuase of alcahol poisoning. Or cause you to become an alcaholic. It can terminate a pregnancy that you dont know about yet, or cause birth defects.
If you want to get pregnant, the key is to take your pre-natal vitamins and eat a healthy, balanced diet, and excersize regularly. Its not smart to get drunk if you are trying for a baby. Before you start trying, its a must to make an appointment with your OB to make sure your health is good. Your OB will answer any questions you have.

No. Sperm can live up to 7 days inside a woman and up to 30 mins if kept in a warm, moist environment

No but drinking sure has caused a lot of unwanted pregnancies.

Drinking ups your chances of becoming pregnant if it makes you promiscuous and have unprotected sex.
If you are planning a pregnancy with your husband, don't drink! Make good choices now and be healthy before you get pregnant!

I don't know about keeping sperm alive longer,but the more you drink, the drunker you'll get,and sperm from many donners may contribute to you getting pregnant easier.

Statistically more people get pregnant when they are drunk because they are more likely to have unprotected sex. But it damages sperm, and makes conception harder and miscarriages more likely.
It is best to abstain from alcohol if you are trying for a baby.

No alcohol does not do that. The thing it does do is lowers your inhibitions and usually gets people who would not have sex to have sex and usually unprotected. That is how is ups your chances of getting pregnant.

Ha ha!! I think the only way it helps is that it lowers your inhibitions about insisting on a condom.
Seriously, I've never heard the theory about body temp and I don't think our bodies fight off sperm. When we're ovulating I think our bodies welcome sperm.

Drinking increases the odds of getting pregnant because one of the side effects of alcohol is having sex :-)
