I think 3 or more years is a good time to decide whether or not to get married. After 9 years you should be engaged or at least discussing the option of marriage. I know that after 9 years I would be expecting us to be married or either splitting up because that's a long time to be with someone.

There are many factors at play. For instance, how old were the two of you when you started dating? Is marriage something you feel necessary in your life? Generally marriage is an instutuion for raising children. Do you want children? If you are happy with the way things are and so is your partner, then a ring isn't necessary. Sometimes marriages fail early on even after 10 years of courting. Especially because financial contributions and expectatoins change along with the "fun stuff". But if you feel like you need a wedding, I say Shi* or get off the pot!
Good luck!

YES something is not right is you are in a nine year relationship and not married. Don't force him to marry you, but tell him that you are looking for a life partner and not a date.

i think of an engagement without set wedding ceremony date is stupid. With that stated, i think of that in case you placed a date for approximately 2 years from now and start up making plans, you're able to be in effective shape! lots of the familiar venues in my section e book 2 years or often times extra beforehand besides! e book your venue and start up finding for different issues you decide on for the marriage. additionally, save in mind that depending on what you order (like your gown), which could take an prolonged time as properly. My gown became an exquisite Maggie Sottero gown. I ordered it on September 25, 2008. My gown did not are available in till June 20, 2009! My wedding ceremony became July 11, 2009!!! I flipped out because of the fact I had concept I ordered my gown in many time for my wedding ceremony, even though it took virtually 9 months to return in!!! So I do think of you're able to start up preliminary making plans now. Get your venue and choose what you decide on, possibly even save for a gown.

depends on your plans, and what do you wanna do next (like travel or study). or maybe you've decided to be together... don't make "9 years" decide be you. depends on what you feel.
