For one day, eh?
Hmmmmm.....
I would stand in front of the United Nations and apologize to the World for the forme administration's invasion of Iraq. I would then apologize to the global Islamic community for helping to galvanize worldwide Islamic leadership efforts to bring about peace.
Then I would stand in front of Congress and demand drafting of legislation THAT DAY that I would sign THAT DAY creating an executive order for the immediate pull out of Iraq.
Then I would nominate myself to a Supreme Court position or to some federal board or task force and live the gravy train for the rest of my life?
Then I would invite several porn stars and strippers for a Gala bash at the White House, hopefully scoring myself a mini orgy in the Oval Office.
I mean, ya gotta, right? :)

Why stop with one? But if I must choose just one thing to accomplish I would enact legislation, by going to Congress and finding a U.S. Representative and a Senator, that proposes debt and tax elimination.
Hold on for a second before you say I'm completely nuts. Part of this legislation would include a Constitutional Amendment prohibiting deficit spending. Many state legislatures and Governors would follow suit.
This legislation would be designed after a blueprint, originally written by Eric Kirkland of Texas, that details exactly how to systematically eliminate public debt first. After public debt is entirely eliminated taxes are reduced, slowly at first, and then eliminated entirely also. All this is accomplished while government is funded and government services are paid for.
This applies to all forms of taxation from income, to property, to sales, to fuel, to sin, to tariffs and also includes all government fees including business licenses, car tags, license plates, drivers license and so forth. The plans are very detailed, and somewhat complex, involving many sound principles of finance. This is not a new idea but the application of it sure is.
Look to hear more about it in the future!

I would first start off with securing our borders. We need to step up security at all of our borders. Let's build more fencing. We also need to revert our social security system to make it surplusing again. We could do this by freezing usless government programs such as NASA from tapping into the money of this program. We need to lower the retirerment age to 62. Make the penalty age at 58. Do you honestly know somebody that can actually live past the age of 70? I can barely name a few. We also can do without sticking our noses in the business of countries that can quite honestly do it themselves. Did we ever find those weapons of mass destruction in Iraq? It took 2,000 soldiers to die (and still counting) for Bush to come to this completely logical conclusion. If for some absolute reason this affects our nation's well being, then we can go in, only as a last resort. Antother, North Korea. For the last 900 years, they have been fighting off invasion. Can you quite possibly think that they are just trying to protect themselves from countries like us who have presidents that can't even say NUCLEAR, from invading their country. Leave the little guy alone before he/ or SHE turns into a big problem. Why can't we be like the Swiss and stay completly out of the world's problems. It's worked for them. They even avoided getting involved in both of the World Wars.

I'd write an amendment that said I would never have to pay taxes again. Set up a new tax that would deposit 1 cent into my account every week from every working American. Legalize bigamy. Make military service mandatory for 12 months..that would put a little more pride in people and they might stop whining about our country and looking down on the military.

I would expose fraud and corruption in the government. I would spend the morning and afternoon in briefing then compose a speech to explain to the public things that they should know about the workings of America. Then about 8:30 I would give a state of the union address and spill the beans. I'd also take advantage of the white house kitchen staff and have great food prepared for me.

Global warming is a problem and we're not doing much for globalizing the economy, plus health care is unaffordable ... but if we eliminate our dependency on oil and convert to a cheaper, cleaner source of fuel, this should boost our econmy, get us in on the ground floor for the rest of the world to turn to us for this progress which should increase our globalization, slow down global warming, stop funding terrorists and maybe the extra money ppl save will help them to afford medical.
I often wondered why the force of the wind against a moving car can't be converted to energy (like a windmill) as well as the tires rotating (like a generator)

If i was a president for one day, i would improve the immigration in this country. In this current time, what ever illegals that reach the american soil are aloud to stay in the country until they recieve their residence, well with me, i would take back the illegal immigrates to their country and would never let them back into this country. If caught the 2nd time, you'll be put in jail for 5 years, if caught the 3rd time 10 years, etc.

If I was president for a day, I would introduce a new LAW which legally 'obliged' every elected politician to answer ANY question put to them 'honestly'.
Those found to be telling 'fibs' or 'downright lies' would be struck 'instantly' from office.
It's time the World was governed by HONEST people with HONEST intentions.

Out Liberals for being the babies that I know they are.
I would do this by taking over all news stations and showing what is happening in Iraq in real time. I would take the entire 24 hours and show on TV interviews of soldiers and Iraqi people saying how they really feel about the war.
I would also try and fit in time to deport all illegals!

Hello,
I would abolish any and all abortions.
Human life is Human life. It does not matter what stage of life we are in. We are all precious in God's Eyes.
How would I do it? I guess look for a loophole in the law and or actually go with my conscience and just bring this case to the Supreme Court and have them abolish this horrible slaughter of Americans in the Womb. You know, potential tax payers and contributors to our social security insurance.
Hope this helps you............. : - O

1) I would do away with lobbying which is what is keep Congress so inept and corrupt.
2) I would IMMEDIATELY start a MASSIVE overhaul of the US education system.
3) I would IMMEDIATELY start a MASSIVE overhaul of the US health care system.
4) I would give incentives for companies to have daycares for working families/moms in their place of employment.
5) I would IMMEDIATELY pull-out of Iraq and Afghanistan leaving only a force as part of the UN if required to do so and concentrate on combating terrorism in other ways and making and repairing our friendship with the world.
There is not enough time to describe in detail what I would do but thanks for the question.
