I'm 31 weeks and have experienced the "itching" problem a few nights now. If I get out of bed (no matter when it is at night) and take a nice, warm shower the itchiness goes away and I can go back to sleep just fine.

As for the achiness and pains, I suggest getting some regular (pregnancy safe) massages, and take a bath before bed. You need relax yourself - if you're stressed out and tense (most likely you are - from not sleeping) your muscles won't be relaxed, which is why you're jittery.

If you don't want to pay for professional massages, get your spouse/significant other to give you massages. Using the Palmer's cocoa butter lotion will relax your muscles and it's good for your skin.

Sorry you're so uncomfortable and not sleeping - I hope it gets better soon. Good luck!

Oh wow, u almost 9 months there,
Try taking a warm bath with olive oil in your bath water before u go to bed to stop the itching.
It is best to sleep on your side and put a neck pillar or rolled up towel under your neck (in the groove)
Sing to Jesus and u will drift to sleep fast and feel better.

I get that way right now. Both of my hips get pinched/numb if i sleep on them... but its the only option.

Ive found that staying really active, and not sitting very much during the day helps ALOT.

Partly because of the activity for your joints, and partly because the exercise helps produce productive sleep.

Have your husband give you a good full body rub down. That works wonders too. Helps me fall asleep. Although its like pulling teeth to get a good massage.

Damn unsympathetic men.

just wait til the baby gets here then you will really be sleep deprived!! Try sleeping in a recliner or propped up with pillows that's what I am having to do in order to get some sleep at night. Also a warm bath/ shower right before bed may loosen your muscles to.

It's your body's way of preparing you for sleepless nights when baby gets here :-). Seriously though, it's pretty common for women who are in the last couple months of pregnancy to have a hard time sleeping. Unfortunately, there is not a whole lot you can do to help.

Most people don't get adequate sleep for their
busy schedule. But, sleep deprivation destroys
not only physical health, but also mental health.
