Hi

I have been told that some Tiger Balms do in fact contain ingredients from Tigers. As a result I no longer use Tiger Balm even though I am not certain it is true.

No tigers anymore. Too expensive, these days they use just about any old cheap feline, bob cats, mountain lions whatever's on special.

Actually it's made of a wax/petroleum base and has menthol, camphor and tea tree in it (meluca oil) which gives it the brisk scent. It's mostly used for sore muscles.
Here's the recipe if you want to make your own.

Yes. Tiger is another word for balm, a big fierce animal with pointy teeth. Or did I dream that?

No it's not made of tigers but I for one really appreciate that you seemed concerned of the possibility!!!

Tiger Balm is, actually, not for sniffles - it's a muscle rub.

No. It's just a company name. If it did contain Tiger, it would cost alot more.
