We've been dating for 4 months, but I spent over a week with his family over Thanksgiving, and feel pretty close to his mom and stepdad. I would normally go gift basket route, but I sent a really nice one as a thank you for having me for Thanksgiving. He is in VT, I'm in CA, so it makes it more difficult as I have to send it. Otherwise, I would just make them toffee and fudge. HELP!

first thing is find out if the are heavy drinkers. then maybe a case of bud might take care of the problem. If they don't drink then maybe they are big and rolly polly? then you just bring them several cases of sweets: little debbies, honey buns, snickers and such. but that is not cheap. if you want to really be thrifty, get them a real cheap bible from the dollar store or some such place. now wrap it up real pretty in white and gold and call for a moment of prayer when they open it. this last one is a little risky because they might hate bibles. but the odds are far in your favor.

Take a picture of the two of you, in front of a christmas tree if possiable. Sent it with a persaonal frame or just a card. But I like making more personal. I would go with frame the picture and a nice xmas card too.
Good Luck!

Suggestions:
-box of gourmet chocolates/truffles
-magazine subscriptions for both in a topic that interests them
-a nice bottle of wine
-try going to different online stores and maybe get them some Christmas decorations or an ornament.
-there's always the handy gift certificates to a restaurant they enjoy

When I was dating my now husband- we'd only been together for a few months when christmas rolled around. I didn't know much about them, so I sent a nice holiday floral arrangement. When I went over christmas day, there is was as the center piece. I was touched and so were they.

How about some beautiful floweres native to California?
Or some of that famous California wine?
Something from California that they can't get in VT would be what I would suggest. Good luck!

I like to send a wreath for the front door a few weeks before Christmas. They get to enjoy it before and after Christmas and when ever they come in the front door, yep they are reminded of me.

What is their favorite restaurant? Go online to the restaurant's website and see about buying a giftcard online for them. Also a lot of grocery stores. like Safeway, have gift cards that you can get for many different things, like Barnes & Noble, visa pre-paid cards (then they can use it at whatever store they like)
