I have another check up next week, and I will ask. But I wanted to see if anyone else could tell me the implications of a completely dropped baby (you literally have to reach AROUND his head to get to my cervix) and a high cervix, (midwife has a hard time reaching it.

Iam effaced a little, from what I can tell, but not dilated- will be checked in a few days.

Does the cervix being so high mean a potential for any complications? Dilation should solve that problem right? The cervix will just dialate around his head, instead of his head being square on it?

The midwife didnt seem concerned.. but then I checked online and found a few threads about women who has issues with it, but their babies hadnt dropped.. and mine has.

nearly 36 weeks right now.

Thanks guys.

I dont know what station the baby is in, but I know the midwife said you can feel his head directly inside the vagina... and according the the wonderful internet... thats as low as you can get.

Considering it feels like my vagina is going to EXPLODE into something the size of a watermelon whenever I sit on the toilet... I guess she must be right. I just didnt think the cervix could stay high when the baby is SO LOW.

Yes -- as you efface & dialate, your cervix should pull back around the baby's head.

Sorry to hear he's dropped so low -- that's got to be miserable for you!

The weeks after my baby dropped were the longest of my life.

I got put on bed rest my baby has dropped and I'm loosing my plug a little every few days. I'm also thinning. And I don't think you should have any problems with your cervix being high. I mean everyones cervix are in a different place like some peoples are sideways and some are lower. I think it should be fine. Pretty much if your widwife isn't concerned you shouldn't be. They have done this so many more times than we could ever experience. It shouldn't be long until you have your baby congrats!!!!
