if the prenancy test was positive ............. then yes you need to check with your medical provider. i miscarried once before and would have never known i was pregnant. if not for the tests.

Hpt's are so sensitive now that you probably had a chemical pregnancy -- that is, the egg implants, you start making pg hormone, but the baby/egg is not going to survive and is expelled. With older tests (or when women weren't testing every five minutes), what you describe would have been chalked up to a late period. Now, with the sensitive tests, the pregnancies that aren't going to make it are being picked up just like the ones that are....if you are bleeding like a period, you are no longer pregnant.
My guess is that a doctor will not want to see you...this early in a pregnancy, you would not even need a D&C -- it was simply the egg that was expelled.

Was the pregnancy test positive? If yes then you are probably having a miscarriage call your doctor or go to the ER, you should get checked out to make sure everything is okay.

the test could have had a false positive. Wait a few days and see if it turns into a period. It could just be spotting, but if it makes you feel better go and see your doctor. He will help you understand what is going on.

If its bright red blood with clots in it then yes you are mroe than likely miscarrying. Get a Dr appointment to confirm. If its darkish blood then it could be implantation bleeding.
