NO, I DON'T DO IT COS I AM IN TROUBLE AFTER THE SECOND RING. I JUST DON'T WANT TO SEEM LIKE I AM STANDING WITH MY PHONE READY IN DESPAIR FOR SOMEONE TO CALL

I do, but most of the time I wait for the second ring.. reason I work at a help desk and we were taught that answering the phone on the first ring can usually catch the caller off guard because they aren't expecting someone to answer that fast so I usually wait for the second ring.

I never answer the phone on the first ring because it usually takes a second for the Caller ID to flash in and tell me who's calling. Despite being on the national "do not call" registry and having a phone with a built-in Telezapper we STILL get lots of calls from telemarketers, so if the Caller ID flashes in a toll-free number or "unknown caller" I don't answer it at all. But if it's someone I know, I answer it as soon as the Caller ID kicks in.

Never. I make it ring at least 3 times at least. Some people call and then realize it's the wrong person so they cut it immediately. in days when I'm not expecting any calls or just not in the mood to talk to anyone, I make it ring 8-10 times which would have to make that an urgent call or a desperate caller.

I answer the phone on the first ring but I think for those who wait for the second or third ring, they don't want to seem like they're desperate for someone to call them.

lol I don't usually pick up the phone at all. But when I rarely do I wait to pick up after the first ring to the caller ID has time to register the name of who's calling. But for those people who wait until after the first ring but quickly pick up before it rings a third time... I think it has to do with obsessive compulsive disorder.

I don't have a first ring, really, because I have a song on my phone. But I don't answer right away. I usually let it play the song (well, the half a chorus, really) through once before I answer, because it's hilarious to see and hear my four year old son dance and sing along to Beyonce's Irreplacable. But then I do pick up pretty quick, because shortly after that, it will send them to my voicemail. It's an art, really... ♥

Sometimes I answer on the first ring (if it's busy, or if I'm pissed and want to get the call over with), usually I answer on the second ring because I have to switch to different computer screens so I can research what the person on the other line needs me to research.

I only answer the phone on the first ring at work... at home I wait to see who's on the caller ID before answering... saves a lot of energy when having to deal with sales people...

I always let the phone ring at least 2-3 times because I don't answer it unless I know who it is by looking at the caller ID.

I would love to answer it on the first ring for I hate hearing the ringing, but I must let it ring at least two times & sometimes 3 for the tracing and caller i.d. to do its job.
