You can keep your own, take his or even use both as your last name. A lot of women don't take the last name. Why should they?

You can keep your own. Taking the husband's name is from the old days when women were "chattel" or property. I hate when I read about someone in the paper and don't realize is it someone I went to school with. If they kept their maiden name, I would know who is who without seeing them in person.

It is completely up to you. If you prefer your own last name then you have every right to keep it. But if you'd rather take his then do.

Of course you can keep your own - but that's reeally up to the both you. My wife took mine and it is very nice. She is still her own woman with a career. We both wwear wedding rings are are traditional.

You dont have to take his surname, but you both have to agree for your surname, if his happy with that then it's no problem. Cos getting married it's either your surname or his not both.

you dont have to but it is something nice to do to show your love. Or you can have both...hyphinate them. or if you guys do get divorced you can just change your name back to your maiden name. its not the last resort to it

Yes you can......
Alot of prefessional folk with all the important papers do it all the time .......
Have you ever see a Doctor's Deploma say Mrs. Dr. Smith .... nope!
What ever you do discuss it before the marriage ....alot less trauma & drauma......
Good Luck !

You can do whatever you wish. I kept my last name, and my husband actually considered changing his to mine. It's whatever makes you comfortable.
