It's a "tribute" song. You either like it because they are trying to remember someone's life or you hate it because of the tragedy.

I like it, haven't heard it in forever though so I wouldn't say it's overplayed - too old to be considered overplayed.

I haven't heard it in forever, but I don't think it bothers me.
Their "Dolphin's Cry" is way better though.
