Look for the 's' after the http address when you are doing any online transaction. THat means the site is secure and your information is encrypted.

If you're checking on a businesses reputation, there must be a BBB equivalent in Spain, although I'm not sure what that would be. You can ask your local bank or your credit card company directly for help and ask whether they would deal with that bank, themselves, as well. If the Spanish bank is not real, your credit card company would insure you for the loss if you use the card. You might want to call them first.
